From the Edge
« on: December 22, 2015, 05:18:32 PM »
Thanks again for the warm welcome at the NYC M/C show - first time I've visited it, and first time to meet some of you guys.
I've been in NJ about three and a half years, and loving it.  Rides in the UK were nearly always short-lived due to the weather, and usually cold and dreary as well.
Been riding since passing my test at 17 on a Honda 90. 365 days a year through school/Uni, then a year touring Aus on a CX500.  Since then, it's been riding for pleasure only, and a bit of commuting on sunny days - latterly on a CBR600 in Manchester UK, then swapped it for the Street Triple when I moved here to marry Mrs Edge.  She doesn't ride, and we have her kids alternate weeks, so weekend runs have been limited.
I also work from home, so have no commute to do - rides are now mainly mid-week to please myself and have some fun.
That said, I'm itching to ride in a small group again, so will try to make more of an effort this year, I promise.
Cheers,
2012 Street Triple R

It was a nice surprise meeting you at our pre- show beer event, and happy to have you on board. We will definitely be riding together soon, and with this unusual weather, hopefully all year 'round!  Merry Christmas and see you soon.

I presume the Edge is from U2. Even if not welcome aboard mate . Would love to ride in merry old England one day. Been there many times but never on a bike.

Welcome Steve!  You absolutely must get out and ride with us at least this spring if not sooner.  I think you would really enjoy The Gathering of the Nortons in April - so plan for it!

Great choice on the 2112 avatar, by the way!

The first Rush album I bought in 1979.
Still have the original vinyl and play it regularly.

One of my all time favorite bands.  I have a bunch of early Rush vinyl, but no longer have a turntable to play them on!

I saw Rush as the opening act for Mountain at the long lost Casino in Asbury Park, in '74, I believe. It was Peart's third show as part of the band.

I have a couple turntables, any chance you're willing to part with them? Somebody stole my vinyl 2112 back in the mid 80's, but I do have it on cd and on my phone.

Welcome Steve,

Party sounds great, especially the whisky part but I hope you guys don't mind if I have my ears plugged in for Led Zep or Jimi , after all I am a sixties child.
