2017 Team Promotion Schedule
« on: January 07, 2017, 10:04:02 AM »
The track day schedule is up on the new Team Promotion web site.  They haven't opened up the login section, so can't sign up for any (sorry Don!) but it looks like a pretty full schedule and they are bound to add more as the year progresses.   Time to start getting psyched up!

Hmm.
I want to do a track day.
Never did one, but figure since I don't ride the street anymore I better do something

I would say that probably 25% of the guys I meet at the track do not ride on the street.   It's a totally different environment.  I can see how guys can get hooked on track days and lose interest in riding on the street.

Any supermotos out there?

Absolutely!  Most of the guys I see on supermotos are damn fast and look like they are having a blast out there.   A dedicated supermoto for the track is a fairly low cost way to get into it as well...

Hey Guys, what's your thoughts on TPM titanium package? At $2999.00 it's a sizable savings if your planing on 4 track days per month or more . :o  I like the no necessary appointments ,just show up and never full policy . TPM has 30 njmp days scheduled plus days in N.Y. and others. The TRU alliance marked days you must pay for them but at a unspecified discounted rate. If the game plan is track riding in 2017 this may be the way to go.

You should probably do the regular package for the first year. You never know how much you'll like it, or if weather or other life stuff gets in the way. That's a shitload of track days, IMHO.

Yeah, I considered it for a bit and there definitely is a convenience factor to that package, but I'm sure I can't commit to 4 track days per month during the season.  Realistically I can see 2 per month for sure with maybe more on certain months.  The IOM trip in June kills two weekends for me right there.  For me I figured I could break even on it but it wasn't a "must do" - if I go over the $3K for the year in track day fees it won't be by much.  I'll see how things go this year and consider it again for next season.  It does look like they removed the free tire mounting feature from the Full Throttle program, so that's a bummer but I didn't go through as many tires last year as I thought I might.  Make no mistake though - the game plan for 2017 is definitely track riding.  I just dropped the Daytona off at Xtreme this afternoon for track plastic and rearset installation...   ;D
