Canyons of the Front Range.
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:42:45 AM »
Found this handy route of the front range.

That route goes thru Gilpin county, so beware. :)

It is nice and linear but it has a glaring flaw. So. St. Vrains Canyon is not utilized. That seems to be everybody's favorite canyon (except for me). It has the best sight lines, the highest speeds and ends in Lyon right by Oskar Blues and Celantro Mary's. I also debate the use of the southernmost canyon which we've used to go from Foot Hills BMW-Triumph to Central City. I found it to be a major traffic artery with it being the logical path to go from Lakewood to I-70 west. It IS scenic, I'll grant you that.
There's a lot of riding left in this section of the Rockies. I could spend the rest of my life on these roads and yearn for nothing more. Truly. As for Gilpin? I always wonder why no one comments on the fact that no group led by me has ever been pulled over. Gilpin is not an issue in my mind.

From K to L is Best Canyon, I mean South St. Vrain.

Cool map Shaun.  Do you know if there is a way to export a Google map to a .GPX file?

Cool.  I'll give that a shot when I have a chance - thanks.

Shazbot...

Wait, that did actually take place in the area we're going.

Anyway, the area down by here looks pretty spiffy too

Maybe made of day like this out of that?

Yeah, I think Mork actually landed in Boulder, or lived there or something....

I was serving with distinction in the sexual revolution while you kids were watching Mork and Mindy. But I think you're right. Shazbot!

Yeah, The show took place in Boulder. The address of the house is 1619 Pine street, not that far from Pearl Street.

And, technically,  I saw the shows in the reruns.

However, we do recognize your service in the revolution. :)

This is less a reply than a note to self. This looks like a good ride out of my favorite area while sleeping in Boulder. I hate to travel with a load of luggage. I'll be back here and I'll want this info.
   Thanks for bearing with me.
