Labor day ride 9/4/17
« on: September 05, 2017, 02:02:21 PM »
It was a outstanding day of riding. For myself I started out by going to Andrew's to drop off a shirt he let me use a few months back. From there I went to the Paramount diner in Manasquan for breakfast.
Andrew met up with me after. Once he got fuel we headed to Woody's to meet up with the other NJRATS. After some good conversation and saying goodbye to Andrew we hit the road. There were 5 of us John San on his KTM,Don the loop on His Aprilia RSV4,Terry two cakes Capuano, Xtreme Ron Ninja 500,and me on my ZR900.
We took a nice scenic ride thru Hamilton, Lawrenceville, Princeton and into Hopewell for a breif pitstop. After the stop and some talk we said our goodbyes to John San and Ron.
At that point there were three of us left for a sweet ride to Van Zant when Don's RSV4s battery took a shir. Lucky for Don John had his jump box. So once he found his battery John gave him a jump start and all three headed home.
So Two cakes and myself had a outstanding ride up to the air strip. Did I mention that it was a awesome day!
Once we had our burgers and fries we found a couple of new roads. Great ride with no issues!
Side note Don make sure you get a battery tender with that new battery.....

Yeah, looks like the charging system on Don's RSV is out of commission.  Once the revs dropped the bike would just stall.  Good thing my overkill XPS-10 was fully charged, because we had to jump it a few more times.  Don had to keep the revs up around 5k otherwise it would stall, which is a real blast with that AR exhaust!   At least I finally got to use that thing for more than just charging my phone after three years!  Antigravity Batteries has a new model out now called the Sport, which is way more compact and probably better for carrying around on sport bikes - still should be able to get a few jumps out of it at 7500mAh.

It would have been a fun story to tell the cop if you got pulled over.

Oh yeah, I can't believe we made it all the way from Rocky Hill to the intersection of Applegarth Rd and Rt.33 without stopping!  Luckily, the lights crossing Rt.1 and Rt.130 were green and we made it through, so we only had to commit a few minor infractions...

Thanks Rocco. I'm sure Don's RSV4 will be repaired soon, long as the parts(if needed)are available.
By the way I believe this Sunday Ron's Xtreme ride is going to NJMP for the Moto America race's. Ron was wanting to leave from Xtreme early. Stay tuned for more!
