Man, insurance co sent a wrecker to pick up the Monster today.  It was unceremoniously dropped on it's side, grabbed by meat hooks attached to rusty chains like something out of Hellraiser, and reeled up onto the back of a flatbed.  Hard to watch after the way I took care of that bike.  Glad I never got around to the $1200 Desmo valve check and belt replacement this year.
That's just one of the reasons we encourage people to have their bikes towed directly to us. It eases the pain if you don't have to see something like that.

That looks awful. It deserved better. Should have had a proper burial.

Agreed.   For $2300 I could have done whatever I wanted with it, but with the cracked frame and damaged rear shock and swingarm I figured it wasn't worth it.  Still hard to watch though.

I hope someone with some sense gets their hands one it and parts it out. It's a shame to waste all that was still working.

Too late now but I wonder if we could have swaped the front suspension from my 796.

Dammit!  We should have thought of that sooner.  If we had time we could have swapped the entire front end.  The Brembo set up on that bike was awesome.  Almost as good as on my Daytona!  I still have the Termi kit, but after some research it looks like it won't work on your bike because of the ABS and traction control on the ecu from the EVO.  I do have the stock mirrors if you can use them.

Yeah . I was a little late on that idea. The ECU won't work. I will keep the mirrors in mind. Thanks John.

Sheesh.  Glad you're OK.  The guy in front owes you for saving his rear end!
