Neil Young & Crazy Horse/ Los Lobos
« on: October 19, 2012, 03:34:22 PM »
I was privileged to see them together at the Hollywood Bowl Thursday night,6th row. I first saw Neil with CSNY in '74, and solo in '77, and I attended the show in LA with one of the same guys from the one in '77.

At 66 years young, Neil still brings it, loud and proud.  2 hours of intensity, with arguably the best rhythm section in rock still backing him after 40 years. New material is great. And the bowl is just a spectacular setting. The bonus of having Los Lobos, for many years one of my favorite bands,  Opening in their hometown, was sweet. A nice tight career-spanning set.

Neil's most famous lyric...It's better to burn out than it is to rust (or fade away, depending on the version)...was in full effect,  and it's a sentiment  I agree with in full. He's still vital, relevant and having fun...no rust.

He's at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn on 12/3 if you're interested.

Awesome!  I'm jealous Capo!

My favorite is Ragged Glory

Where Neil asks the age old question:  "Why do I keep Fuckin" Up...?"
