A sad day for motorsports and civil rights
« on: February 02, 2018, 09:48:59 PM »
I wasn't sure where to put this rant. As most of you have already heard, the PC crowd (that's Politically Correct, nothing to do with computers) has invaded F1. While interest rates are rising and the world economy kinda sucks, there are people being forced to change careers.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/motorsports/f1-to-end-long-standing-practice-of-using-grid-girls/ar-BBIwkeG?li=BBnb7Kz&OCID=HPDHP

F1 is not the beginning nor will it be the end. World Endurance Championship eliminated Grid Girls (I don't think anyone noticed that one to be honest), Professional Darts Corporation eliminated their Walk-on Girls, now F1 has eliminated their Grid Girls. Before the season is out, I expect the smaller sanctioning bodies will start eliminating their eye candy.
We'll see Moto America get rid of their Umbrella Girls, NHRA eliminate their trophy girls, then the big guys. Monster Energy Supercross, Nascar Monster Energy Cup, and yes, Moto GP. No more Umbrella Girls, no more Trophy Girls. Hundreds, if not thousands, unemployed due to political correctness run rampant.
I doubt very much that the average Umbrella Girl is independently wealthy. Where do the politically correct get off forcing people to change their livelihood? What comes next, no more cheerleaders? Dallas Cowgirls asking "do you want fries with that?"?
Is it right to objectify women? Not if she doesn't want to be. If she doesn't want to be, then she shouldn't put on a spandex body suit. She wouldn't audition for a movie directed by someone with a reputation like Roman Polanski or Harvey Weinstein.
Do I watch racing for the eye candy? Definitely not. I watch it for the competition. Like any heterosexual male, I appreciate feminine beauty but make-up and plastic surgery don't do anything for me. That doesn't mean I think any less of these women. I still believe they have the right to pursue a career of their choice just as I do. This is supposed to be a Free Country. We shouldn't have our lives dictated by those who think they know what's best for us.
It's time to stop the insanity.

The Monster Energy Girls are barely seen on the tv anymore. At both SX and CUP race's. Again we all suffer because of a few bad apples!  >:(

Don,
I don't judge people. Whatever floats your boat, but don't try to change me. I'm not going to march in your parade or worship in your church. I don't care what people do in their own homes but if someone gets offended because they see some camel toe on a Pirelli calendar, what right do they have to make a stink about it? I'm talking a guestimate of 30 girls at each of what, 18 F1 races in a season, so 500 plus women unemployed in that series alone. Why? Who wins?

Monster energy has already had there run in. People complained about there outfits. Very conservative. High collars no butts hanging out. But people still complained

I admire the female form as much as the next guy, as a vigorous heterosexual, but umbrella girls are cheesy relics of a time past. I really don’t get off on some  stripper looking chick holding an umbrella over a motorcycle. Or soaping one up, for that matter. I kind of appreciate my motorcycles and my strippers independently. So, I really don’t give a shit if a race series decides that they don’t think it’s appropriate any more.

Ron, you must be quiet and stand still for your ''social neutering''. Unfortunately, tradition is a target for the warped ''snowflake'' mentality of today.

500 unemployed ex- strippers? I don't know...girls like that can always make a buck. You Porn, Escort services. Bikini bike washes at Xtreme.  Old perverts using them as sugar daddies. Other high class endeavors for the erectile disfunction crowd. Time moves on. Coal miners, umbrella girls. Time to change careers.
